Dessert without baking! Simple preparation!
Nuts in a different way. This time we chose ordinary walnuts and prepared a recipe for oat gofio with walnuts. The dish can be a great dessert. You can also enjoy it for breakfast, as it is highly nutritious.
Ingredients:
- 200g of walnuts
- 450 ml sweetened condensed milk
- 200 g or 8 large spoons of Oat Gofio Viva la Gaia
- Juice of half a lime
- Lime peel
Nuts in a different way. This time we chose ordinary walnuts and prepared a recipe for oat gofio with walnuts.
Preparation
Put the walnuts in a pan and fry them a little. Be careful not to burn them. Save a few whole walnuts for decoration, and roughly chop the rest into pieces with a knife.
In the meantime, also prepare the juice of half a lime and grate the peel. Save.
Pour the gofio into a large bowl. Add chopped walnuts and mix. Make a well in the middle and pour in the condensed milk. If the milk is unsweetened and you like a sweeter taste, add a spoonful of unrefined sugar or sugar syrup beforehand (check the Viva la Gaia offer). Next, add the juice of half a lime and knead everything into a smooth mixture. You can adjust the density by adding gofio or water if you think it is too thick or too thin. When the mix is ready, put it in a suitable bowl, cover it with food foil, and put it in the fridge for half an hour. Before serving, decorate the dish with the remaining walnuts and pieces of lime peel.

The dish is perfect as a dessert. The next day, it will also be good as a quick and nutritious breakfast.
Corn gofio enriches the dish with a sharper taste of nuts and the smell of popcorn. You can also treat yourself to other types of gofio, such as, e.g. oat or wheat gofio and enjoy different flavours: oat gofio has a smell and taste similar to oatmeal, while wheat is more neutral and can also be combined with varying types of sugar, such as muscovado sugar or with other unrefined sugars such as coconut, cane and palm sugar.
